To further sustain and accelerate our growth we are looking for a Lead Engineer Test (full-stack).

As a lead engineer test (full-stack), you are passionate about continuous testing and automation of our cloud-based IoT platform. you lead the the test team by example, define guidelines and enhance teamwork. Along with test engineers, you create all test cases/sets, automate the tests and provide feedback to team members to sharpen their test skills. You combine a strong technical background in testing and test automation with coordination and communication skills to lift the software Quality to a higher level.

You report to an Engineering Manager who is responsible for the people management aspects of your and other teams. The two of you work together to identify opportunities for professional growth or process improvements. You provide transparent insight into your teams progress to the Program Manager, who is responsible for the overall release planning and tracking of budget, scope, timing and quality. The Program Manager is your partner in crime and can help in removing obstacles, communication and coordination with other teams and making sure you have the resources required to meet the timelines.

This is a full-time position in our office in Hasselt (Belgium). We offer a hybrid model of working two days per week at the office in Hasselt , and three days from home. The focus of this role is on creating, managing and maintaining the (automated) tests of our EV charging solution. You will collaborate with Software development team to come up with the correct test sets.

Job requirements

Your profile:

  • A bachelor’s degree in informatics, computer science, industrial science or equivalent engineering.
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing), you’re a strong communicator that can coordinate with the development team and take ownership of the test automation topics.
  • You lead, mentor and inspire a group of  test engineers. You lead by example by taking ownership, being proactive and collaborating;
  • You are organized, structured and have a systematic work approach.
  • You have a hands-on attitude and a passion for quality.
  • You can work autonomously and take initiative to propose solutions.

Technical skills:

  • At least 3 years experience with test automation and test management tools, as applied to back-end testing and front-end, covering all levels from unit testing to end-to-end testing.
  • You have a software development background. (Strong plus if this is in java, python and/or javascript)
  • You know how to juggle multiple tasks and perform well in a dynamic environment with frequently changing priorities
  • You can perform under time pressure
  • You have a hands-on mentality
  • You have an analytical and creative mind and can get things done.
  • Experience with modern cloud-based development and operation environments.
  • Experience with API testing.
  • Experience with at least one scripting language.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware / IoT device automation testing is a Plus.
  • Hands-on knowledge of hardware communication protocols like modbus is a plus.
